Salutations
Hey all, just thought I'd say hi. We all pretty much know one another to varying degrees from CotI and around but feel free to jump in here and introduce yourself if you like.
Mostly I created this thread because I feel a need to explain myself a bit.
When David (aka Beech) posted his idea on CotI I was interested and inspired. But I wanted to know if what I had to offer vision wise was anywhere in the same ballpark. And I was a bit shy. So before going anywhere else on it I dropped him a quick audition sample and some notes.
Anyway, David liked my audition so I guess I'm on board. Looks like good company.
That, in a nutshell, is what he's been hinting at in posts referring to me. Now I'll run along and finish catching up on the other threads here and post that intro/audition when I get a few minutes later this evening.
My background for such a project is rather limited. The typical rpg referee talents for storytelling (good to great, depending). A struggling sketch artist hampered by a lack of talent and will to work on it more. And a long history of studying comic books in print and online (well, I can call it "studying" can't I ).

Thanks Chuck, I don't know if I rule but I can draw a straight line with one
I've long liked your own work and was happy to see you among the other talents interested in this. I think your background and skills is a major score for the group.

AFK for a bit
Hey all, headed out of town tomorrow. Should be back Monday sometime. Though next week looks busy for taking a long weekend away I hope to have some updates. Maybe the break will break this writer's block and I can contribute something story/plot wise. Though Chuck has a good deal going on that. Maybe I'll just play technical adviser Or continuity checker.
Have a good weekend all

Re: Salutations
Have a good one Dan, I have been a bit AFK myself recently but RL work seems to be calming down now so I should be able to contribute a lot more soon.
I think we need to work on the opening scene... The Cortex Crown, where is it, what is it & how do we introduce it as a prologue.
Or do we concentrate on the crew & ship first and gradually drip feed the story line in after?
I still quite like your introductory panels it would be good to have something similar to kick this off if we can tie it in somehow.

Re: Salutations
Hi everybody!
Wow, that month flew by. Just thought I'd pop in and see what's up. Good stuff. And I'd post more specifically but my compy/connection has suddenly bogged right down. My old Apple IIc with a 300baud modem was more responsive. Seriously. This post took about 5 minutes to this point
I can't deal with it. One day I'll track down the cause but for now I'm just walking away. I'll try again later.

Re: Salutations
Hi Guys,
Looks like this has died a bit, no problem, always lots of other Traveller projects on the go.
If you feel like resurrecting this then let me know and we can continue where we left off.
In the meantime I am going to attempt do a webstrip on my own using the same ship (because it's pretty cool), I'll make sure this is a type of prequel using the same ship - different crew - several years earlier, so this project could take off again without any conflict.
Oh, and thanks for your help and input so far, it was greatly appreciated.

That's cool. Keep the site if it's free and we'll poke it now and then maybe.

Is Me.
Great and now a brand new forums system to learn too. :p
Hi everyone, I haven't read anything but this so far. I will now do the Magnus on this forum now, so expect so serious posting....for a bit anyway.
And while I don't spread it around on CotI, my real name is Craig. Since we all seem on a somewhat first name basis, or so it appears.
Well, off to my what, like 3rd Traveller Project and 4th gaming related...when did I get so busy?

Who needs RL when you can spend your time in Traveller related goodness forums!Magnus von Thornwood wrote:

Thanks for coming aboard Craig, I am uber-busy for a couple of days but will get back onboard myself over the weekend and start thrashing out a PLAN of how and what we do first.
Dan, I think your excellent initial intro is still the way to go so I will work that up and then we can work into and beyond it. I thought this project may have died for a while, glad it has risen again .
I reckon we should get the first few pages out really soon with a blaze of publicity, i.e a post on CotI & Mongoose (and then we will be committed, Ha!)

Re: Salutations
I saw this forum a while back but it's taken till now to actually sign up. So most of you know me as Border Reiver on COTI and Mongoose but that name is causing me problems at work for the moment so I'm reducing its online profile a bit. I've been epocalypse on livejournal, The Tavern and elsewhere for a long, long time so it's not new.
Glad to see this project is almost ready to go live, obviously I'm a bit late on the scene. I had my own little project which stalled due to a huge number of issues (from hard drive failures to hospitalisation) that I hope to reboot with my brother's help once more.

Re: Salutations
Hey welcome aboard epocalypse, good to have you join us.
As you can see we've done loads of development and are pretty close to putting out the start of this, it's great fun to work on & the guys here are doing a really cool job.
Any input/help is always very welcome

Re: Salutations
Sorry to take so long to get back Dan, the pirate smiley was sitting in the list of options on the "post reply" screen.
Anyway this is quite cool. Having finally got my head mostly round Daz|Studio, I'm getting some practice in with modelling in Hexagon. This is not quite as easy.
Sorry about the split personality, I'd best keep the epocalpyse username but if anyone prefers to use Border Reiver, BR or even Dave then feel free. Just trying to keep one step ahead of the management (hint: never criticise the actions of management on a privately run staff forum unless your online presence is completely untraceable )
